Early October 2017 I joined a Dutch orthopedic team on their mission in Burkina Faso. Despite the tough conditions they were able to help dozens of children with handicaps. Often caused by birth defects, sometimes neglected fractures. In addition to the surgeries they shared knowledge with local medics and left them operating tools. Slowly healthcare improves in Burkina Faso, one of the poorest countries in the world.
